Never Be Ashamed of a Scar....

Today, marks one year that I had reconstructive surgery to repair one of my injuries from domestic abuse from my ex. "I show my scars so that other know that they too can heal" and overcome. When this event occurred, my injuries were not the only thing on display and exposed; so were my vulnerabilities and insecurities, I was humiliated. I live with the reminder of where I have come from and what I have been through every time I looked in the mirror. However, I'm also reminded of just how much my inner and outer injuries have healed, restored and made whole (physically, emotionally and spiritually). Others that know my story, have been onlookers during my journey of recovery; they have also seen me remain centered and unbroken from that which tried to break me physically, mentally and spiritually.
My motivation is to be an example to others to show you can always be fully healed and restored... no matter what your injuries" are. The surgeons repaired the physical scars, but only God was able to repair the invisible real scars that surgeons couldn't. 'I show my scars so that others know they can heal' is a movement; join the movement, do not be ashamed, show your inner and outer scars and inspire others that are on their journey of healing.

"Never be ashamed of a scar, it simply means you were stronger than what tried to break you. Your scar tells a story, a story that says I SURVIVED!!"
